From documented collection to certified dispatch — every step in NEPL's recycling process is structured for regulatory compliance, environmental safeguards, and verifiable material recovery.
E-waste received from authorized sources — EPR producers, authorized collection centres, bulk consumers, manufacturers, dealers, service centres, refurbishers, and institutional collection programmes.
Incoming consignments weighed on calibrated scales, visually inspected for physical condition, and documented with receipt records including source, category, and quantity.

Category-wise sorting of received e-waste. Hazardous components (batteries, mercury lamps, capacitors, toner cartridges, refrigerant-containing units) identified and separated for specialized handling.
Manual dismantling at 16 dedicated workstations, each equipped with local exhaust ventilation (suction hoods, cyclone separators, emission stacks) for worker safety and emission control. Components separated into recoverable fractions.

Specialized processing for regulated components: battery removal and segregation, CRT cutting and glass separation, refrigerant gas recovery, compressor disassembly, motor recycling, cable stripping and conductor recovery.

Mechanical shredding of dismantled components to reduce particle size for downstream separation processes. Dust collection via pulse jet bag filters prevents particulate emissions.

Multi-stage separation to isolate material fractions: Magnetic separation (ferrous metals), Eddy current separation (non-ferrous metals like copper and aluminium), Density-based separation (plastics, ceramics), Air classification (light fractions).

Precious metal recovery from PCBs and metal-rich fractions through smelting (thermal processing with PNG-fueled furnace) and hydrometallurgical treatment systems for higher-purity recovery.

Recovered materials undergo quality inspection before being packed and prepared for dispatch to authorized downstream partners — refineries, smelters, and material processors.

Regulated hazardous fractions — batteries, mercury-containing lamps, CRT glass, toner cartridges, capacitors, and refrigerant oils — are stored in designated areas and channelized to authorized Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities (TSDF).
Complete documentation maintained for every consignment: receipt records, processing logs, recovery records, dispatch records, hazardous waste manifests, and compliance certificates issued to stakeholders.
